#112- Copping Out
But I love you, Blue Beetle. What will I do without you? Come back, baby, come back.
I didn’t mean it. Of course you’re the real Blue Beetle. Of course you’re just as good as Ted. Better! You haven’t died yet!

Does this mean that now Pete will have to show his face to do the dirty work?

Replacing the scientists, whose costumes were designed by Ditko and Gil Kane, with teenagers in more generic gear has seemed like an odd way to make The Blue Beetle and The Atom more relevant ( salesworthy ). Likewise insisting that Cptn Marvel still had his Billy Batson personality.
Is Ted alive again? I saw something that suggested that he was.

The best part is that it probably took a good few minutes to make the strip. Of course, said fiancee was probably laughing her ass off during its inception.

Well of course I was!

@ritaxis: Not that I know of, though Everyman posed as him recently. I do really enjoy the new Blue Beetle, though–you really think his costume is generic? I mean, he’s got a giant blue beetle on his back–it seems pretty indicative of who he is.

Well, okay, not generic. But less brilliant, I declare, than the Ditko suit. And I strongly suspect that someone was looking for a midcard superhero to do Iron Man with.

LOL
The sad thing is that puts him closer to that awful idea of teenaged Tony Stark, from just before the Onslaught story. Who would want to emulate that idea?

BOO!! That’s not Ted. Actually the new blue beetle is okay, but he is not Ted. Actually I think Ted is “alive” currently running around the time line with booster gold. Not sure how the is gonna end though because Ted sorta has to die to start the Crisis or maybe him and booster swap out Ted with Wally West and we get another sacrificial Flash.
